Rabia Nasir
‘Home is a space where one feels safe, secure and loved. Not just a building with 4 walls, it is
built with relationships holding it all together, with each member playing their part in keeping it
intact and functional. My work explores the concept of broken family bonds, the relationships are represented by everyday found objects, that are fixed and mended using methods that might make the object appear to be functional for a little while but in the long run will fail to hold the object together, as cracks widen it becomes more and more fragile, till the bond breaks completely, scattering the pieces. I also talk about the family bound and how it is different for each one of the family members, because everyone is looking at it with their own perspective.’
