Manal Kafeel

Manal, an aspiring Pakistani artist, was born in Rawalpindi in 1994. She specialized in Painting and graduated from National College of Arts in January 2017 with experience in installation art, printmaking, critical practice, and sculpting. She continues to explore different medium that sets well with her concept for her installations and an abstract formation of the human body through intense line drawings. She is now doing her Masters in Graphic Design from Coventry University, aiming to traverse both the real and the virtual world.

“As a Painter and a Visual Artist, I take inspirations from oddly drawn pictures with a curiosity that at first doesn’t seem pleasing to the audience, but then makes you wonder, what might be the reason behind it, was it intentional, was it rage, anger, frustration, love, joy, or nothing at all?
My work is about the intensity of the strokes made with the use of pencil and charcoal. The absurdity of postures through lines with no details or disturbances by colors clearly represents restlessness, suffocation, and challenges as an individual we all go by”. Manal Kafeel
